Build a Library for Rural Schools in Uganda
Beneficiary: Kapchorwa District Schools
About this campaign
In the Kapchorwa District of eastern Uganda, six primary schools serve over 2,000 children — but together they share fewer than 40 books. Teachers write lessons on crumbling blackboards, and students have no access to reference materials, storybooks, or learning aids.
This campaign will fund the construction of a 200-square-metre community library, stocked with 3,000 books across all subjects and reading levels, plus computers for digital literacy. The building will serve the schools during the day and the wider community in the evenings.
Our local partner, the Kapchorwa Education Trust, has already secured the land and obtained all necessary permits. Construction can begin within two weeks of reaching our goal.
Education is the most powerful tool we can give a child. Help us build the foundation.
