Emergency Housing for Wildfire Survivors
Beneficiary: Lithgow Wildfire Survivors
About this campaign
In September 2026, fast-moving wildfires swept through the Lithgow region of New South Wales, destroying 34 homes and leaving 89 people — including 31 children — without shelter. Insurance payouts are delayed, and the local rental market has no vacancies.
Funds raised will be distributed in two streams: immediate temporary housing costs (caravan parks, short-term rentals) for families with nowhere to go, and rebuilding grants for those whose insurance falls short of actual reconstruction costs.
The campaign is administered by the NSW Rural Fire Service Foundation, a registered charity with full financial transparency. Every family's situation is assessed individually, and grants are paid directly to landlords and builders.
These families lost everything in hours. Help them rebuild their lives.
