About this campaign
In the Heliopolis favela of São Paulo — Brazil's largest — 150 young people aged 10–18 are enrolled in our arts programme. Music, visual arts, and theatre give them a safe space, a sense of identity, and skills that open doors. Last year, three graduates won scholarships to university arts programmes.
But our funding runs out in December. Without this campaign, the programme closes and 150 young people lose their anchor.
Funds will cover: professional instructors (music, visual arts, theatre) for 12 months; instruments and art materials; a year-end showcase at a São Paulo cultural centre; and a digital portfolio programme so graduates can apply for further education.
The programme is run by Instituto Criar, a 20-year-old NGO with a track record of transforming lives through arts education.
Art saves lives. Help us keep the doors open.
